BELGARD TO COOKSTOWN LINK ROAD
ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE
This project involves the construction of a new link road between Belgard Road North and the Cookstown Industrial Estate through a brown field site for South Dublin County Council.
The new road construction includes extensive site clearance and demolition, the installation of a large attenuation tank and drainage upgrade for the future development of a school, social housing a park and apartments.
The project includes the upgrade of the Belgard Road North surface and numerous road crossing for utility upgrades.
The Belgard to Cookstown Link Road route will also include a new district heating system, cycle lanes, footpaths and landscaping.
The project commenced just as two of the worst storms in decades hit the country requiring extensive de-watering.
Heavy storms forced site crews to carry out emergency repairs to Belgard Road North Bus Stop as the drainage below the stop was unable to handle the deluge.
